Paving patterns

The pattern decides how the paving behaves under load and how it looks from the gate. Here are the four we recommend and where each belongs.

Herringbone

Blocks laid at right angles in a zig-zag, at 45° or 90° to the edge. The strongest pattern: it locks in both directions, so wheels cannot push a row along. Use it for driveways, yards and anywhere vehicles turn. Works with Uni and Cobel.

Stretcher bond

Rows offset by half a block, like brickwork. Quick to lay and easy on the eye. Best for paths and patios; on a drive, run the rows across the direction of travel.

Basket weave

Pairs of Cobel laid alternately across and along. A traditional look for courtyards and garden paths. Not for vehicles.

Borders and accents

Finish every area with a soldier course of Cobel or a line of Eliyana. A border hides the cuts, holds the edge and frames the pattern. Use Eliyana for circles, around trees and drains.
